Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has instructed the officials of earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation authority to gear up the developmental work in the quake affected areas.
Chairing a meeting of ERRA in Islamabad, he said elected representatives from the affected areas should be consulted for carrying out rehabilitation work. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani approved the grant of 700 million rupees to acquire land for the rehabilitation of the affected people in the N.W.F.P. He ordered ERRA to present a detailed plan about new Balakot city in the next meeting. He also directed that the ERRA meeting would now be held every month instead of quarterly basis. The Prime Minister was told that over two billion dollars have now been spent on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the quake hit areas. He was breifed that master plans are now ready to build quake proof cities at Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Balakot and Bagh. Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed khan thanked the prime minister for his keen interest in and strong support for rehabilitation of affected areas.
